Hello Battle Families!
I am Tarah Kemp and I moved to Battle Academy in 2022 after working at DuPont Elementary for a decade. Since moving to Tennessee in 2006 from South Florida and graduating from UTC in 2011, I have mainly focused on science and social studies instruction since then. In 2019, I personally spearheaded an integrated culinary program called Cooking Up Learning that helped bring local culinary leaders into the school to provide hands-on experiences for K-5 students in my very own culinary lab! Through this program, I have provided new learning opportunities for hundreds of students and have partnered with dozens of community partners around the Chattanooga area. But more importantly, it opened the door to join the Battle Family! Even more, my own personal family is everything to me and I love being an aunt to my niece, Everley, and a “pet-mom” to my many* pets at home! All in all, I love the city and all that it encompasses; I’m not leaving any time soon!
