Hello My Name Is...

Melanie Atchley

 This year, I begin my 18th year of teaching!  I began teaching kindergarten and first grade at Howard Elementary, before moving to Battle Academy in 2004.  I am thankful for my 14 years spent at Battle Academy.  

During my time at Battle Academy, I taught third grade for eight years, before moving in to the role of literacy coach.  In this role, I work along side the teachers at both Calvin Donaldson and Battle Academy on best practices in literacy instruction.  Our goal is to ensure every student receives instruction which supports their individual reading and writing levels, as well as promoting and encouraging improvement to grade level expectations and beyond!  

 Battle Academy is a special place for students, teachers and families!  My husband, Trevor, and I are thankful that our children are able to be part of this amazing community!
